 Help, how do I take care of the southern alligator lizard?

We received a lizard, which we think we’ve identified as a southern alligator lizard, in an order shipped to us from southern CA. (no, we didn’t order the lizard, we ordered general stuff, and were very surprised to find the lizard included). We’re trying to take care of him/her? and could use some advice. Cage size, stuff in it, anything NOT to go in it? How much and how often do they eat . . . . have pics to upload, but wanted to at least get this out there ... thanks.
