HELP ME IT WONT EAT/ MY FIRST LIZARD 
i need some advice! i got this alligator lizard from a friend who had caught him/her(?) outside their house in bay area, CA. anyway, they werent able to take very good care of it for money reasons etc. they asked me if i would take it from them and give it a better home. so, although ive never had a lizard before ive done my best. ive had it for a few weeks and i took it from its original 10gal little tank to a custom 40 gal that i flipped on its side giving it 6 sq. ft. of crawlin around space. ive got lights and have finally got the temps just right. they were feeding it crickets but in the week or so before they gave him to me they werent able to feed it anythign. they same day i took it home i gave it crickets but it wouldnt eat them. i figured it was just freaked out by the move. well like i said its been a few weeks now and i think its maybe ate one or two crickets. it just isnt even interested in them at all. it is active at times and seems to like its new tank way better but lately it just has its eyes closed all day. theres some pics of it and its home below this. right now its climbed up on one of the fake leaves i have in its cooler "foresty" side of the tank. its never done that before. i dont know maybe its showing off for the camera but not likely it really doesnt like people. it bites too LOL but um, im just hoping someone can tell me what am i doing wrong, why wont it eat?? is it messed up from the previous owners? HELP i love this lil lizard i wanna make it better!!!

give it a few days. myne did not eat at first eaither when i first got it. it did not eat a thing for 2 days, then it became a pig.

Ive had a lot of other lizards in the past and i just caught one today and it ate no longer than five mins after i caught it but its normal for it to do that

well do you have UV lighting if not get it quick because it may have mbd and it’s not normal for a lizard not to eat for a few weeks.
