 Aligator lizard hiding a lot

We have a aligator lizard that my kids caught about 2 months ago. It was burrowing at night and coming out in the morning at about the same time every day. Then just before it laid eggs its schedule started changing. It laid eggs a few weeks ago. We took them out and are trying to hatch them as per this website. Now its schedule is all over the place. Sometimes it doesn’t come out of hiding until the middle of the day. It is very active when it is out. It always eats the crickets right away. She is fun to watch. Is something wrong with her or is it normal?

He still hasn’t come out yet today and it is 4:30. Yesterday he didn’t come out until I uncovered him, but then he ate fine.

alligator lizards normally hide and rest alot..sometimes even the whole day except when feeding.
i have a northern and it sleeps under a log almost everyday.when theres food..it jumps right up and goes all crazy eating away all the crickets i get her lol. im pretty sure southerns do the same and its mostly normal for them to rest alot.sometimes they walk around the tank and explore but mostly they rest..
