 Baby gator not eating

I recieved my gator yesterday and tried to feed him some low grade steak today as a recommendation from the person I got it from. I researched this, but with the small amount of info on these incredible creatures there is no info on this subject. I need some help please. Any info is welcome. Thanks in advance. no flaming.

It would have been good to research before you bought it but since you didn’t I will say, feed him crickets at first, something that moves will trigger his feeding reflex, drop the crickets on top of the water, make sure the water is about 80 degrees, make sure he has land basking space with a heat light as well, if he is cold he wont eat, little gators like moving targets to chase in the water, you can also crowd the water with fish, if you can find fish that are small other than gold fish thats great cuz to much gold fish can cause health problems, every now and then shouldnt hurt him but all the time can be bad cuz of the oily scales of the fish and thiamine, I hope I spelled that right. I also feed mine mazuri pellets, he likes them the most but they should not be a main source of food, just a supplement. Try crickets first and if he doesnt eat for the first 2 or 3 days it could be that he was fed well before shipping or he could be stressed getting adjusted to his new home. Fish and crickets, mainly crickets would be good to start him eating....... Peace P.S. Sometimes it helps to squirt thier jaws softly with a spray bottle to get them to eat and you can also squirt the crickets that drowned into his jaws to get him to bite or you can squirt the pellets in the gators direction as well, you know what I mean, squirt the top of the water to push as the food into strike range, it helps sometimes. Peace
