Try looking at Crocodilian.com’s Captive Care FAQ it has all the essentials and more for helping you become knowledgeable about keeping these animals. Once people on here know you are responsible enough and know enough to properly care for one of these awesome creatures they will be more willing to help you find a select a specimen to purchase. |

-Reed Most of us exited the tattletale stage of school and grew up "Im going to tell" your the ONLY person that this seems to bug if you have an issue just point the post out to Doug dont make pointless mindless threats in the posts all this does is encourage bad hebavior amongst the group... your the only one that protests complaints on this and seeing it on the threads gets irritating (Before you came on this forum YEARS back people posted things of this nature..most would either ignore or offer proper advice not complain and threaten to tattle) Just fracking let it go whining will do more to irritate then posting "looking for a baby alligator" like most I ignore said posts and assume they are inexperianced. its like you seek out a reason to argue and complain....technically what you did is considered ’rude behavior’ and therefore reportable to Doug... your flaming the post with threats of telling doug... |

However most people wont listen or accept the fact that they either need more experience with simpler animals or need to do a buttload of research. THATS why the Caimans end up dying. I think what Celtic was saying is that she ignores these posts because the poster is obviously too lazy to do any research on their own and therefore doesnt deserve help in getting an animal they shouldn’t buy in the first place. |

SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS ME!!! OMG I think I may have suffered a mild Myocardial infarction there. In truth, if someone wanted the animal enough and had done the research they would know where to go. Most on here have no intentions of selling their Crocodilians, but I am personally of the opinion that they belong with respnsible owners....granted in the past I did a few stupid things myself...but that is neither here nor there... People think that Crocs, like Cockatoos and large parrots are a fad, they do not realize the commitment in the animal they want. the time the care..a proper home for either means time consuiming as heck.. I will help if someone who has done the research asks a question I am glad to pop out an answer... I will see that the person recieves good advice.. but for people that decide last moment they want one and think this is a place where they can place a classified I usually ignore the Ad..thats all ignore it not even threaten to talk to Doug...most of the times the Ad dies down if someone responds with negativity the person may get upset or it starts a flame thread...why bother?? Im under the impression of two things here...One, that the person asking about where to get one is inexperianced and probably thought they were ’cool’ if they had any knowledge they would already have researched a breeder... Two, is that negativity begots negativity...Reese on several posts has acted irresponsible rude and complaintative threatening to tattle to Doug...Maturity people maturity.. I chose to ignore the Ad because the person is obviously not ready for the commitment...had he asked about feeding..then yeah different story... as Croc said we do advise NOT to get the animal until your ready....we have enough laws coming down on keeping reptiles as is, we do not need help in making the hobby/lifestyle look bad....Thanks Croc...its like a kid coming on here thinking because he watched croc hunter and had a iguana he is ready for something that will remove his arm, or another kid that had a parakeet and wants a too which demands so darn much time and attention..better yet "I have a garter and now I want a boomslang..." then the kid gets bit...job security for me and a negative strike in the reptile community for us.... |
