Hatchlings should be fed 3 to 4 times a week, and adults should be fed 1 to 2 times a week. I usually just fed my hatchling every other day.

In a natural habitat juvis will eat sandfleas crickets and other insects, they will also eat fish, and other small aqautic critters and land mammals that they can manage... they actually have a VERY wide selective diet... and variety... you can feed f/t pinkies yes..but keep in mind you should not feed too many fish a mass fish diet causes B-1 deficiences due to high levels of thiaminase... the oiler the worst.. you can also get necrosis of fatty tissues.. hence why the diet should be varied... its best to do f/t with smaller if you dont plan to supervise the feeding small rats can give quite a nasty nip to younguns...

as they get bigger try thawed ’wings’ get a bag of variety chicken with the bone, its a great source of calcium remember not to much organ and viceral meat unless your going to give calcium supplements to assure a healthy diet.. as for fish goldfish are flashy but are NOTORIOUS if given more then say pinkies of breaking down with the B-1 stick to the occasional treat of shiners (fishing minnows) and make sure no fish is the primary source of meal..if your gator will eat f/t fish freezing and thawing or warming the fish help break down the thiamanse and diminish chances of a problem, still the fish should not be a frequent..you would be sick of eating the same thing right??
