This is why RZ has a classified section, as for 5month old and ’1 foot long’ if anyone believes that, I have ocean front property in Arizona to sell and the deed to the Golden Gate bridge up for Auction. at 5 months old your looking at 6-7 MAYBE Inches, they dont speed grow and yes while doing their first mass growing in the first year I do not think it to be THAT massive of a growth rate not to mention if its ’that energetic’ I doubt you could get an approximate measurement on him/her unless you pinned a very angry Gator down, third they arent ’people friendly’ they are ’tolerant of humans’ and young you dont do much handling for the fear of stressing them... so that young It is HIGHLY doubtful its so ’people friendly’ .... Yeah they ussually are born 6 to 8 inches, mine was 11 inches when I got him but looked like he was 6 inches before I measured him, so In that case I dont know how old mine really is, I got him last December the 4th and now he is 19 and 1/2 inches, I wanted him to grow a little more than that, I was aiming at 24 inches in a year, my gator looked like a runt fresh out the egg at first but I guess he might be a little older than I thought, my caiman was sold to me at 7 weeks of age so I assumed that the people who I got the gator from monitored it to make sure he survived the critical new born time but it looked like he was just born when I got him at first glance. The caiman was 13 inches when I got him and now he hovers at 19 inches, no growth spurt for him in the last 2 months. In 5 months my gator grew from 11 inches to 15 inches and hovers at the same size sometimes and has another spurt, I think 19 and 1/2 inches is fairly good in the first year, hes close to 2 feet as of now........
