HELP PLEASE

i have a baby american alligator on order. do i need a filtiration system for his tank? if so, what kind? a regular filter are an underwater filtiration system? where can i purchase a coated rock for him to bask on? whats the best brand?

When my Caiman’s were little I used a water fountain pump and hooked it up to an external 55 gal tank filter and the filtered water returned to the tank like a water fall. That worked out really nice for a few years. After that I had to step up to a small swimming pool filter. Any natural flat rock or log will work nice as a basking spot, just use a ’’frosted flood light 45 watts to 75 watts’’ to heat the basking area... (((DON’T USE SPOT LIGHTS, THEY WILL BURN YOUR ANIMAL)))....

I use a normal fish tank filter with a waterfall for my tank and my gator loves it and for a basking spot i put half a cinder block and a piece of slate on top for him to hide under or whatever he wanted ill see if i can get pics up

Hope its easy to see the land area
