Not to be rude, but if you do not know the answer to that question, then you have no business owning one. Do you relize how much they eat?

To put it simple if your mother kept you in a 24 inch dresser drawer would you have only gotten 24 inches tall? NO you would have gotten however tall you were intended to get. Now keeping them in a small tank will help to kill them slowly as they will not be able to move they will be very stressed, and can, and usually do become deformed and die. If you didn’t know the answer to the question that you asked then you need to take the animal back to the place you bought it and return it for a gerbil. I am flodded every year with Alligators, Caimen, ETC. because of people getting into more than they can handle(most of the time because of these damn pet shops that miss inform the customer) Do the research before the purchase.

 Growth on an aligator

Sorry but my female was a rescue that was kept in too small quarters..she became malnourished and very aggitated....she didnt have the room she needed and actually has the tip of her tail missing...Im sorry but if you need ask questions like that then get a bunny...Gators are for those that can understand the chances of being bitten...or the growth pattern.....do you realize HOW MUCH they will eat? are you feeding him like you should???? do you have a place for them to bask?? I think Bayou said it best with if kept in a drawer..... Its like the chinese (NO ofeense) that would bind the baby’s foot if it were a girl to try and prevent huge growth...its unnatural and you need to find someone who will be able to take care of it..Im not B***hing or preaching or being rude its just a stated fact...Its like Having a Reticulated Python and keeping it in a 10 gallon tank hoping it wont get any bigger...."Aint gonna happen"
