 We just added a toad to our family HELP!!!
I know she is a American Toad but that is about it. We are adding on to the house and the toads goes under the deck after Friday The deck will not exist and the dozers are coming. Every night for the last two months my son (age 10) has made friends with this toad. He has been so sick about the expansion because of the toad. I don’t mind taking him in but I need help. I just don’t want him to get sick because we are not taking care of him right. Just so I can touch on this subject I know usually wild animals should remain in the wild but this is a special case. If I don’t take the toad in and the dozers come and he gets run over or mangled I couldn’t live with myself. If anyone could give me some information or some websites to go to. I have been on a lot of websites and I found what they eat but how much etc. Thanks

you can keep it but it will die if you dont get the right stuff. you will need
1. a cage.
2. somthing for her to hind under.
3. you need to put dirt in the cage so she can dig.
4. a water bowl.
that it need to let her go before winter so she can mate and hibernat

ya if u have a low dug window well they work great alls u need for the window well is
1. top soil (organic and no beads)
2. wood chips (if u want it can just be top soil or just wood chips)
3. a brand new litter box (for water. at least 4 inches tall and foot wide) or a large bowl
4. rocks and wood pieces (prop up the wood with rocks to make a small house to hide in)
5.fake plants or real
6. and some jungle wallpaper (if u want)
u can find all this supplies at a petstore

listen.you will need a cage, heatpad, food, water and water bowl.Ask the peopple at your local pet store what you should use for the inside of the cage. Everyday you have to fill up the water bowl and always get it about 15 crickets a week depending on the size of the toad.you should probraly let the toad out of cage everyday for exercise and put it in a box.the toad won’t like the feeling of cardboard so put a layer of grass in it.that is really all you need to know.good luck.

If i were you i would let it go in a creek away from the house and there are a realy cool toad at petco or pet smart that are realy easy to take care of they are called fire belliedtoads
