 Need to know.....

i have had a americain toad for about 1 and 1/2 years now. up untill now i had him in a 2.5 gal tank (small i know) but toad i moved him into a 30 gal that is half land and half water wiht my 2 fire belly toads i don t no how long that will last but i m keeping a close eye on them. what your toad will need is somelight ( it doesn t have to give heat) and some plants . there should be a dish of water ( or have your tank half and half) and set something in with the water so he can rest on it when swimming. if your toad is kept i a small tank make sure he/she get exercise ( when mine was in the small tanki would let him hop around on the floor ! :P any way i hope that that helped you

peace

how i like to set up my American toads cages you need soil{coca nut dirt you can get at most pet stores}
dried leaves and some moss{i get out side} i put four to five inches of soil in the tank giving them room to dig under and sleep and then the leaves and moss the moss helps you now if the soil is moist enough it will grow when its moist enough and it looks really cool too and of course a big enough water bowl for them to soak in

k, this is what u will need:

* a 10 gal. tank, smaller or bigger work fine to (dont do smaller inless the toad is only 1 to 2 years old)

*dirt or bark (which ever ur pref. i like both)

*a big enough water contaner to have ur toad sit in (inless you are breeding, then it is a diff. story)

*shelter (i use a flat peace of wood and some rocks to make a cave.)

*a spray bottle (to keep the dirt damp. dont over spray. 1 every day is good)

*plants (live or real) to hide in

now u r all set! (: yay! good luck!
