welcome to the wonderful world of anacondas . i had about a 6 foot green that never bit me and then all of sudden it would sneak in a bite every now and then . anacondas are so unpredictable and i personally would never consider one tame just one might tolerate being handled more then others. the more you handle it the more it will get use to being handled of course but if you fear it biting you now what are you going to feel about the snake when it gets 6 or 8 feet long? anacondas are very strong snakes and very unpredictable so jjust be careful and i would love to see some pics thanks |

if the temps are good and the humidity is at 60% or close then that should be great... i usually keep my smaller anacondas in 10 gallon size setups once they hit the 4 to 5 foot range i will put them in a 20 gallon long setup and of course with a side cooler then the other and a hide box i also only allow my anacondas a soak bowl no more then a couple of days a week as my anacondas are all fat and lazy and they will just lay in there soak bowls all week and that will lead to water blisters. and as far as feeder size the rule of thumb is the meal shouldnt be no larger then the snakes biggest area which is usually the half way point of the snake...but this rule is always broken....i m guilty (lol) sounds like u r doing everything right . and as far as being bitten is going to happen sooner or later and its not that bad . here is a pic of one of my 3 foot males bites . the bites are worth having a anaconda in my opinion . and i speak on both sides of the temperments i have both very docile anacondas and very agressive anacondas . i tend to sale or trade off the more agressive ones , but i think i have a very good collection of anacondas (lol)
lmk thanks |

my smaller anacondas if provided a hide will stay in there all day long , and raom around at night . i work nights so i see them most of the time lol...my adults are big and lazy and think not to much will hurt them so they are pretty content and just move about when ever except when a soak tub is introduced and thats where they stay until i remove it. 40 gallon setup does seem a bit large if you ask me and a smaller tank is easier to maintain humidity and temps and overall i have found out that smaller snakes like smaller enclosures. lmk thanks |
