How on Earth do you guys house Anacondas?

Do you let them free roam or what? I can’t imagine having an 18 ft. snake just wandering around my house.

I don’t own an anaconda, and probably never will.

Free roam would seem to me a very bad idea as it keeps their wild instincts alive and could increase their agressive behaviour. Besides i’m sure she would break everything as she climbed on things. Baaad idea!! Keep them in a cage, trust me ;)

I’ve woke up next to worse in the past

I don’t keep these snakes either as i’m into Boas and BP’s, but i’m curious to know what size enclosure you use for an adult anaconda

Tank size is typically 1/2 to 3/4 the length of the snake

Male yellows would thus typically need the smallest tank, male greens and female yellows are typically interchangable as far as tank size, and then green females need the largest

Even so, a 14 foot female green could be housed in something like this:

or even

My mom knows a woman who let her 15 foot Burmese roam the house. One morning the snake woke up next to her, the next morning this happened to, and so on. The lady who owned the snake got worried about it and brought it to the vet. The vet confiscated it from her because the snake was sizing her up and getting ready to eat her.
