Hatching problems Hi!
I have several Anoles. They have laid about 50 eggs. The first five eggs hatched without any problem after 40 days. After that it seems that every egg dies just before hatching. A couple of them started opening the egg and died during the process. Three others just died when they were ready to hatch but never made it to start opening the egg.
Temperature 86 - 88.5
Humidity: wet vermiculite
Is there anybody who can help with this??
thanks!!!!

Hatching problems I have tried the vermiculite over and over and have about 8 eggs in it now but have never had 1 hatch (yet) Now when I see them in thank I don’t even try to remove them I just cover them with dirt and stick a tooth pick in the dirt beside the egg and tend to the tank as I always do with the misting and they seem to hatch out fine..Actually when they hatch out I know it cuz they knock over the tooth picks as the dig up out of the dirt and I know to look 4 them and get them out when the tooth pick is knocked over b4 they get ate (((brake the sharp points off the tooth picks if tried and dont push it to deep at all into the dirt))).And I keep extra crickets in there tanks seems to keep the parents bellies fat and full they seem to even tolerate the little 1’s running around the tank and not eat em as much when there is 10 ta 15 crickets running around in there with the babies..Any way the vermiculite has not worked 4 me (yet) this is the last time I am trying it to,seeing as the not moving them and the tooth pick an dirt thing is working so well..Atrax has posted about using vermiculite though (thats why i tried it) ya might get ahold or message him he might could help ya with the vermiculite good luck an have a gr8 day.

Hatching problems thank you for your advice. I’ll see what I can do. the thing is that my anoles lay their eggs directly in the vermiculite. I’ll follow your advice and change to dirt.
Thank you very much
Sam
