Found eggs in yard!!! I need advise PLEASE!!

While doing yard work today i came across 2 eggs and 1 already hatched egg shell. I carried the 2 eggs in the house and started research. I discovered on the Internet that they appear to be lizard eggs. Since I am from Florida and brown anoles are a dime a dozen in the wild I’m 99.9% sure that’s what they are. I have 2 sons that would love to witness the experience of watching them hatch. I put them in a covered reptile terrarium and buried them in the same dirt that I found them in. I’ll be leaving it out on the porch to stay warm in the natural heat that they were originally in. One egg is quite a bit smaller than the other and it has a more "brownish" color than the bigger egg. Is that bad news?? What are the odds that these will hatch?? Do you think they are infertile since I found a hatched shell as well? Please offer advise!!!!

Anoles usually lay their eggs a week apart so I’d say there’s about an 85% chance of them hatching. You’ll have to keep the soil around them damp(don’t get water on the eggs, just around them). If you’re planning on keeping them after they hatch you’ll have to buy flightless fruit flies(it’s pretty fun to watch) and they’ll just gulp them down.About the brown one,I’m not sure.None of my eggs have been brown so far so you’d have to wait for someone more experience to answer that.

Best of luck to you,
