 Knight anole only lays one egg?

My knight anole just dug a hole and deposited a single large egg. Is this typical? Do they lay one at a time? Is she going to seek another location for others? It is surprisingly large, and I can’t imagine her carrying many more.

I assume it’s fertile because I’ve observed them mating frequently in recent weeks.

I my experience, they will often only lay one egg, sometimes they do lay two.

they can lay up to 14 eggs in cluches of 1-2 possible 3 but never heard that

I know of them laying at least a few eggs. I only have one male but a friend of mine had a clutch containing several eggs this year.

I’ll just keep the box of soil in there then, and smooth the surface so I can tell when she’s been digging.
