Will green anoles eat/kill their young?

I’ve got 3 female anoles who (for the most part) get on great and live happily together, recently theres been 2 young anoles hatched in the tank. The dominant female ignored the first one but seems intent in hunting and killing the youngest one - will she really kill it or is she just likely to be hunting for something else?

I believe that if anoles are not properly fed they will eat their young, but i thought that was just the male (father) I could be wrong

Both sexes view hatchlings as a food source if they are small enough. Generally, if the adults are well-fed, they are not interested in expending the energy to catch the hatchlings (which are quite fast!).

yeah, i’ve been keeping them very well fed!! the smallest one actually bops its head (must be male) at Thor (the daddy), which is brave/stupid as it would fit nicely in his mouth.

SO FAR, theres 3 babies (that i know of) and they sit happily in the trees alongside the other lizards
