 How do you know...?

Here is the thing....I haven’t seen my anole eat since July. Of course he is eating but, I never get to see it! I just think that it would be easier to keep up with how much and when he eats. I don’t want the crickets and the worms running loose and living in the cage (dying and decomposing). Plus, it’s entertaining to watch. How well do anoles catch and eat crickets and worms that are hiding underneath the substrate? Thanks!

do you use reptibark as a substrate? that is a very easy hide for crickets, if you are, switch to organic soil with no perlite, verm., or any fertilizer. if you want to see your anoles eat, just stay relatively still. you are hundreds of times larger than the anole, so the slightest movement could scare them. step back about 5 feet, and get eye level with the cage. in the next few minutes, your anole should have caught one or two.
