 Burns?

Crash was burned on the back of his neck.
I don’t know how the little guy got the burn, but it doesn’t seem to have changed his way of life.
Crash is staying in Blood-Bath’s tank until we find out what burned him.

I just need to know if he will be okay, and if there is anything i can do to help.

Crash is a Green Anole.
Blood-Bath is a Tokay Gecko.

Unless you have a heating rock (which I HOPE you don’t) the only thing he could have been burned from is one of your lighting fixtures. Is the top of your cage wire? It can get pretty hot from your lights....just move your fixture up a few inches and maybe move the furniture in his "basking" spot down a bit. That should fix the problem....just get him out of the cage with the Gecko ASAP!! Mixing species is NEVER a good idea.

(If you use any kind of pad heating source....bury it further beneath the substrate.)

What watt are your bulbs??

you were right about the cage wire.
thanks for the help.

don’t worry about Crash and Blood-Bath living together.
they lived in the same tank together for about a year.
Blood-Bath eats mice, fish, and large crickets, but he has never attacked Crash.

P.S. Crash sleeps on Blood-Bath’s back, so i’m not worryed about any fighting between the to of them.

it is still a bad idea. there are these magic things called parasite living in both your anole and gecko. not only do different species living on the same bush in the wild have different parasite loads and diseases they can carry without any harm that others cant, and yours are from different parts of the globe, so it is a very bad idea.

This is verrrrrry true Esio. They could wipe each other out before you know it.

I’m glad I was able to help you out though, and that Crash can now safely go back to his home.

I know you had your lizard’s safety in mind by trying to get him away from danger. A lot of pet store clerks fail to include this info when you purchase a reptile/amphibian from them (a customer is less likely to spend extra money on two enclosures but the pet stores end up with more money in the long run anyway by selling you another species.....or simply don’t know themselves....which is a shame) And that is why research and more research and more research (never-ending) is the key to knowing how to properly take care of -any- pet.
