 Crested hatchling

does anyone know abour how tall should a crested anole hatchlings crest be? i have only seen adults and one i am watching seems to have a pretty small crest compared to the adults in scale.

Are you referring to Anolis cristatellus (Puerto Rican Crested Anole) or one of the other species with a crest?

yes, the crest is barely visible. i know adults dont have huge crests, but this one is so minute, unless you knew it was one, you wouldnt even guess, it is onlyone or two scales high, looks like it is just skinny and it is its spine.

If it is a male, the crest will grow exponentially as it matures (females don’t have crests). As hatchlings, the sexes are indistinguishable.
