Gender?
Males are larger and have a larger head in proportion to their bodies. Males also have a pink dewlap on the under side of their neck that they inflate when intimidated or for mating purposes (when its not fanned out their throat has a pink tint). Also most females have a white or light stripe down their back, it looks like a spine. None of these are 100 proof but if it has more of one characteristic it’s prob that gender. (ex. Small w/ small head and spine-like white stripe:prob female. Large w/ large head no stripe and pink tinted throat: porb male) It’s generally easy to tell. |

Gender?

| Sexing is difficult if the anole is really young because the baby males can sometimes look like the older females. Males: *grow larger than females *heads become proportionately larger w/age *have larger dewlaps than females *have a prominent hemipenile bulge at the base of the tail(older males) *have a lighter or no middorsal line Females: *retains a white or grayish middorsal line *head is proportionate to the body *very small or no dewlap I hope this helps! ~Kam |
