 My anole Died
My boy anole died this morning, or sometime last night. When I woke up he was asleep on his coconut house, but he wasnt he had died. I am so sad, and I dont know what happened? He looked like he had been dead along time but he hadnt been. Alot of him had tuned black and his eyes were gone. I think maybe the cricketts had started eating him. My mom just fed them yesterday and he was alive. We always had problems keeping him green, he was brown alot so I wonder what was wrong. Is my girl going to be ok now?

i dont reccomend crickts for a small animal meal worms are the better choice. and his watering is probably what turned him brown.anoles dont like cold water or chlorinated water i reccomend that you get filtered water.if these quotes do not work and the female anole dies i reccomend you get a snake the are easy to take care of. good luck jack

This is Ajas Mom...I am pretty sure we were doing everything right. Our temps were good, and we did use filtered water..never cold, room temp or even a slight bit warmer. Humidity was always good too. We also cleaned out the tak quite frequently. We have been told by several people that mealworms are a no no with anoles. We also have a bearded dragon and get silkies for him so we give our anoles the little silks and waxwomrs as well. ( small ones)He has been brown since the day we brought him home. We are sad but we still have our little girl, shes bright green and hopefully will be fine. Bought some new substrate cleaned out her house and she is happy...hoefully she will be ours for quite awhile.Jill P.S. We dont do snakes in this house...LOL!

i feel the same way two of mine died in a plant, it looke like they died from cancer...then two babies died....we wern’t sure wut happend .when mine died the eyes were sunken in and had a purple bump on its head. age 14

Liz girl is my sister, and we had our lizards together in a 10 gallon. The first set of three we had, my female died in this artificial plant. We thought it was just natural, but a few days later my sisters was found in the plant nearly dead. it would let you flip it on its back it was so sick. But we revived her so she got lucky. So my question is, did you have an artificial plant?p.s. We now own two anoles, male and female, a racerunner, and two house geckos, all caught by me so they should be healthy. Some pet stores have no idea what to do with lizards.My friend had one that died the day he bought it!
