 PEAT MOSS, i think its the absolute BEST for anoles, skinks, pretty much anything that doesn’t live in the desert. DUH moss

 OK the best anole substrate is bark mulch. I prefer it very much.but then agian if you want live plants soil is a good substrate.You can also put plants in pots but not too big.if you want to ask me any more questions email me at anoleking2004@yahoo.com

My anole substrate  Pete moss does hold mosture well but the heat inside of the vivarium causes the water to evaporate at high speeds. All that moisture added and subtracted would cause the peat moss to decay at a high rate which is ok if you change the soil often. The other thing is peat moss promotes the groth of bactiria and fungus which you don’t want.Dysturbed
