 Brown and Green anoles together

I’ve just been told by a reptile expert that I cannot keep my brown anole with my green anole. I’m devestated. He said I have to seperate them. But I don’t have any other vivariums or the money tobuy another one(It cost me £189.99 altogether) In fact, I haven’t even got enough room for any more. Is it definatley true that green and brown anoles cannot live together? By the way, the green anole is female and the brown anole is male.

who is this reptile expert, is it someone that works at a pet shop just trying to sell you another fish-tank? Green and brown anoles are fine together.... they both need the same stuff, they live together in the wild.... i think he just wanted you to buy some more stuff....

OK once again someone is giving you bad advice on this forum.
In the wild green and brown anoles do live together but the green are dying because the brown are killing them. This should tell you that green and brown should not be housed together. This however is not always the case. I would not want to try it myself though.

Secondly to anolegrl122....anoles thermo regulate, this means that they change colors to keep thier body temperature where they need it. Green anoles turn brown to absorb more heat. This is why they have been givin the nickname american chamelleons.

yes they change from green to brown or a musty coloured yellow colour this may happen when they are stressed, hungry or they temperature and humidity may not be right so do not worry

i have 2 female green anoles, two female bark anoles and one male bark anole. they all get on fine. the trouble starts when you have 2 males together of same or different species. brown anoles do not kill green anoles, mainly because they are smaller. you see brown anoles more than green because they are more terrestrial and therefore easier to spot, brown anoles may also be breeding more successfully than the green.
