 Lizard eye fungus

Ok, so my green anole started to get this yellowish crap in its eyes and know he cant even see his own food, so he starves, and i feel bad. I also feel bad about not being able to afford a 70 dollar trip to the vet, not to mention the perscription antibiotic. Sheeesh! What do i do about this? Are there any home remedies? Home remedies tend to do more harm than good in most cases. The best you can do is flush the eye out with sterile saline and keep the anole on newspapers or paper towels instead of a particulate substrate to keep the eye as clean as possible. Trying antibiotics if it’s a fungus may cause the fungus to get worse and vice versa so trying stuff at home often backfires.
