Canadian eh? HELP! Well my daughter found what we think is brown anole in a grocery store backroom. He’s very tiny, 2" incl. tail. Pretty active, but dang me it’s about to become very cold here in Edmonton. We have NO CLUE about these guys, but we’d like to keep him comfy. Need info on care! Got the pinhead cricket thing going on - will he eat aphids? my garden is rotten with them.

Canadian eh? HELP!
10 gallon tank should be fine for a little anole. Anoles need a UVA or UVB light they must have some artificial plants in the cage (can get at most pet stores) You can use bark or cage carpet at the bottom of the cage. Do not use heat rocks it can burn them and give them sun burn. You also need a basking light to keep them warm i suggest a 50 or 60 watt bulb. You should feed them 3-4 servings a day and most of the anoles will not drink from a water dish. so you should spray the plant or plants 3-4 times a day so they can drink. The temp. in the cage should be around 80-85 degrees and at night i dont use the light at night. The light should be on between 10-12 hrs. a day. The humidity should be around 60-70%. The anole itself is cheap but the stuff you need for it is expensive. Enjoy your anole. And i dont know if they could eat the aphids i would stick with the crickets and they like mealworms.

Canadian eh? HELP! no, it needs to be slightly smaller, find the biggest pet shop, or just call around, or order them off the internet, but you will most likely need fruit flys... they can’t fly, they have curly wings,, but they’re small enough for it to eat... also, with the UVA/UVB thing, you need UVB muchm more than UVA, beacuse UVA lights are much cheaper, so youll be tempted to use that, but it worthless, you need UVB or else you might as well not use any UV at all.... UV gives them th vitamins.........
