How long can anoles last without UV b4 they kick they bucket!
AND how long should the UV light be 4 a cage 36 x 12 x 16THANKZ in ADVANCE,

Anoles use the UVA/UVB for several things.
1. It stimulates growth and appetite
2. They also get important vitamins from the lights.
For a cage that size you could get two 18" tubes and put them end to end.

I have never done a test like that and dont suggest you do either. Its cruel and unusual. But if I had to guess as to how long they would last I would say until they used up all the vitamins in thier system and started to burn thier own fat content (which isnt much) and got too weak to eat for themselves and eventually died.

I’m not doing a test. I’ve caught some anoles & put them in seperate kritter keepers. I have 30gal im going to put them in. I just dont have a UV light yet. I think i could eventually get one. But if the anoles wouldn’t live long enough for me to get one Id let em go  PLZ somebody give me some Idea! Would they make for 2wks?

Yes they will last for two weeks but you really need to get all the equipment that is needed before you try to care for reptiles as they need alot of specialized equipment.
They are not like cats and dogs.

and either an automatic mister or a spray bottle.
helps with two things.
1. helps keep humidity up
2. most anoles will not drink standing water. the mister will produce droplets of water on the glass and the leaves that they will drink up.you should mist the terrarium 3-4 times per day.

I’ve got my UV light  I was wondering will anoles drink out of a waterfall? I just got a 9". I’m going to set it on the low setting so it don’t scare them. But I’m still going to mist it.

Yes they will drink from a running waterfall. The sound of running water will attract them to it.

u no thats funny this was a long time ago but when i didnt no anything bout reotiles i bout my first and it was a little green anole i` have him in a .5 gal tnak with bark and a tree thats it no lighting or nutin i fed him crix and he had water and he lived for a year and a half wich is unuasuall
