 HELP!!!!!!! I REALLY BADLY NEED HELP! ASAP!
I need to know if my anoles are male or female can you help?? How do you tell if they are male or female and how can you get them to mate and what happens when they mate? thanks!

It’s pretty easy to figure out. Males are slightly bigger and have a dewlap under their chin. It can be from pale pink ro bright pink. A female does not have a dewlap and will sometimes have a faint stripe down the back. As far as the mating question goes, I’m not sure. I only have a male so I don’t have much experiance with it. To my knowledge (which is possiably wrong, probably wrong) I don’t think you need to do anything. I belive if they get along they will just mate naturally. If they do mate then you need to make sure your female is getting enough vitamins and you would feed her more. Make sure there is a good substrate for her to lay her eggs in. When they are laid, from what I’ve read, you should remove them and place them in a seperate enclosure. Just like most reptiles don’t turn the eggs. Make sure you transport them the same way they were laid. I’m sure someone else might be able to answer this better. But it’s better then nothing.

The wrong info that i was refering to was the dewlap staement that you made. Females do have a dewlap just as the males do only smaller.
And by the way no info is better than wrong info and the post has been answered several times. This is about the fifth time she has posted it.

don’t get so mad at anolegrll22 none of you really know how to sex an anole from what i’ve read. female anoles have a dewlap and it is the same size in proportion as the males, it seems smaller because they are smaller. juvenile males have a white stripe down their backs as well as females. the easy way to sex anoles is to 1. compare heads:females have a small streamlined head whereas males seem to have heads that are way to big for their bodies. 2. males have a red dewlap but how often are you going to see the dewlap in the store? 3. Females are tiny. The only 100% guaranteed way to sex a anole is to flip it over and look at the base of the tail. if there are two enlarged scales there then it is a male. so unless you guys know absolutely for sure that you know everything there is to know about anoles (and you don’t, I know a lot but I don’t know everything) don’t get pissed off at someone else for their mistakes because all of you made mistakes as well.

you can also tell by the diamonds on a females back and the females have a longer nose to bury there eggs
