Every1 please post!! Most anoles will not drink from standing water. My suggestion is to either get an automatic mister or mist the tank your self 3-4 times per day. Anoles will drink the droplets of water off the leafs, if any, and off the glass. Also you can get a waterfall and the sound of running water will attract them to drink as well. As far as the people at the pet shop being able to sex them, they should be able to, but you never know. As for the mating, if conditions are right they will mate and yes they do lay eggs.

Every1 please post!! all of my anoles regularly drink from their water bowl.its a large ceramic one and they hop down to the rim and just drink.one of my younger females will ONLY eat crickets that r stuck in the water in the dish!...go figure..LOL!i believe they learn by seeing motion in the water...whether it be crickets swimming in it or drips falling into it.but after they get used to it they need no motion.

Every1 please post!! yes they lay eggs. i recently moved my anoles to a new viv and found 2 cold eggs. however a ten gallon tank is a bit too small for 2 anoles. really they need at least 10g each. i certainly wouldn’t put tree frogs in there as well.

Every1 please post!! pick out your anoles yourself. a female will be tiny and have a very smooth streamlined head with a white stripe down her back and a male will be larger with a head that seems too big for his body, a juvenile male may also have a stripe down his back. the easiest way to tell is to flip the anole onto his back and look for two enlarged scales at the base of the tail, if you find these to larger scales then you are looking at a strapping young man!
