Anole Color morph? Pictures and Questions 
In the current house im in, i’ve lived here all my life, 20 years. I’ve probably got 500+ anoles living in my backyard. I’ve seen millions around here in these 20 years, NEVER have I even seen what i saw. A normal looking brown anole was outside my window and i took a closer look and noticed its head , whole top of head was bright red/orange, i t was a small female, i ran outside, and after 2 hours caught the sucka. Her head was 100% orange/red color, and today i noticed 2 more of them! same exact color head so it has to be a traite passed down from a mother/father. I caught 1 of those 2 today and it was a male, but a little bigger than the female. Heres pics of them, first pic is the female 2nd is the male. I’ve never seen / known these brown anoles to color morph... and i only see them in this 1 spot by my window out of the 2 acres i have, lots of tree too. I’ve only noticed 1 more small one running around with a red head. So i wont catch it till i notice more. Im trying to find the mom or dad and see if there is a huge one with this color head. Check out pics, 1st female 2nd male.

Wow those are interesting!! I have NEVER seen one and ive seen alot of anoles!! they may be brother and sister so you may not want to breed them. GOOD LUCK!!!

Good news!I just spoted a darker anole with a orange/red head. Full grown. Male =) WICH MEANS!!!! Its a much much better chance its a dominant trait. And being the male i caught is still young, but much bigger compared to female they might be from differnt moms but i wont chance it, im going to mate the male with the most light colored best looking female i can find and then mate its "carrot head" babies with the female i currently have. Woo hoo!

Ive completly caught the genetic line, from 3 generations, non like it anywhere. ill be posting new pics in the next couple of days

how can you tell which is male and which is female??will 2 females touch eachother,i know males keep there distance frome eachother. my 2 anoles are either 2 females or Male and female

i hate to burst your bubble but my guess is those are a different type of anole, not a color morph of the green anole. Even so, if it is a dominant trait of be worth anything?

UMM its far from a green anole, thats a BROWN anole... with a total carrot head.. brown anoles dont get those.

Sorry, i dont know to much about anoles, other than they are sold for snake food. Anyway i hate to break it to you but thats just a Anolis sagrei sagrei. No color morph that will be worth a lot of money. Here are some pics i found on google that look like your guys.

Sure, I’ve seen several of these in Broward County (Tamarac), Florida. In fact I captured two of them. Their head is the same "rust" color as in your pictures. I have one male and one female of this "variation" of the Brown Anole.-David-

sorry to disapoint you but its not amorph we have lots of them where i live in florida.It is just a species of anoles also you could breed a regular anole with a red hed one the babies may get the trate....
