Emergency assistance required!!! Recently acquired anole (green), has become severly dehydrated. It is drinking from leaves and even off glass wall. I purchased an emergency RX for this, but it dosen’t seem to be working. I have used the included syringe to delicately induce liquids into the anoles mouth, and never force fed. It seemed to be ok at first, the anole drank readily a drop at a time, but...the solution does not appear to be working at all. The anole is terribly dehydrated and the skeletal isexposed. I see little to no tissue mass at all. the lizard moves around ok, but I feel it is only a matter of a few days before it may die. SUGGESTIONS? Thanks for your help.... Bill

Emergency assistance required!!! Keep misting the sides of the tank and the plants. Even place a small water dish because even though most anoles don’t drink from static bodies of water I have seen some that do. Better yet try using gatorade instead of water. If you have some calcium and vitamin dust you can mix that with the water too. Other than force feeding there isn’t much you can do unless you aren’t giving him/her enough heat. I’m assuming that this is your only anole but if you do have more than one keep them seperated. The stress caused by the others can prevent the smaller weaker ones to starve themselves to death.

Emergency assistance required!!! The anole died today somewhere around the afternoon. I added an additional heat lamp kept everything warm and humid, sprayed/misted 3-4 times every day. It seemed to be working and the anole was doing much better. It was drinking from the leaves/stems and from the walls/glass. I don’t know exactly why it died, other than it was badly emaciated and wouldn’t gain any weight/muscle tone. I had it used to me and would let it walk freely on my hands and it seemed to be comfortable when I held and fed it. The last I checked in the afternoon, about 12-12:30 it was just fine. It was active and lying on the branch basking. It was always alert and responsive. It was a real heartbreak to find it lying on the bottom on it’s back. Thanks for your help! Bill (p.s.) I have another smaller anole which is doing fine, along with the bahaman.
