you can put it in a large wide mouth canning jar and the poke holes into the canning lid and put a ring around it

I keep mine in a 10gal with food/jelly, a cardboard drink holder (from any fast food place), and some soil in a shallow dish for them to lay eggs in.
Somewhere on this site is a sheet telling you how to raise/breed crickets. IF you want to do that sort of thing.

If you don’t, they’re very easy to keep alive until you feed them all to your anole. Just get one of those little plastic "critter carrier" containers, some cricket food (in a plastic jar), and cricket jelly (also in a plastic jar) at most pet stores. oh and of course a piece of a cardboard egg carton. All of those things are very cheap and the food/jelly lasts a LONG time.

I keep mine in this, and it’s wonderful:

I found out that crickets have this habit of trying to get higher, and they can’t climb the sides of the box or the outside of the tubes, so they climb the inside of them (which are coated with a bit of some gristly stuff so they can get a better grip).

Once it’s feeding time, you just take out one of the tubes and open up a plastic baggy, and shake the tube until the crickets fall out. This way you never have to actually touch the crickets! Nice, eh?
