Need help feeding my blind brown anole!!!! Newbie here - I came across a dehydrated brown anole a few weeks ago and have been trying to nurse it back to health ever since. It was so dehydrated it could barely move and its eyes were sunken in so bad, they seemed to be missing. I gave it a few drops of water on his lips and he lapped it up... for a week I continued to give it water and some mixed 50/50 with gatorade for electrolytes. Things were looking up (color improved and activity improved) but his eyes never opened. Petsmart suggested I use a Turtle Eye Drops solution. It didn’t help and now the eyes seem to be completely closed/healed over. I don’t think this guy has a chance to ever see, which is my next problem. He won’t eat anything. I’ve tried holding crickets in front of him, mashing them in a paste, etc. etc. The only thing he’ll "eat" is a drop of water on his lips. So the only nutrients I can get in him now is a water/cricket mixture but I’m sure he won’t last with that little bit. He occasionally holds his head up high with his mouth slightly open (which is odd) so I don’t know if he’s in distress? or looking for water? I’m at the end of week 3 with him (amazing) and I’m leaving in a few weeks for vacation. I was hoping to find some sort of liquid feed or a method to get him to eat insects again. Anyone have any suggestions? Please, I’m desperate to save this little fellow!!! Here’s a pic of him (the best I could get - his mouth looks wet because I just gave him a drop of water).Link

Need help feeding my blind brown anole!!!! first off, it doesnt appear to be too much that you can do for it...Also, if it was just wild caught and in a poor state, it wouldnt eat crickets by hand...anoles wouldnt eat a paste of crickets either(they like them live)

Need help feeding my blind brown anole!!!! When you took him to Petsmart, did you ask an employee or take him to their actual vet? Because employees there aren’t required to know a lick about herps, unfortunately.

Need help feeding my blind brown anole!!!! I was also going to suggest very small "pin head" crickets. He may just be too weak for the larger ones.
