 Anole and house gecko

I was wondering if you could keep a anole and house gecko I have a house gecko and I want to buy an anole If you cant keep them together will a 5 gal tank do for the anole

some people on this forum will tell you that you can mix them, but personally i wouldnt.(One is nocturnal and the other is diurnal). Also, 5 gallons is too small for an anole. Go for at least 10 gallons per anole.

They really don’t do great together. As mentioned above, one is diurnal, the other is nocturnal. They would be keeping each other up, and because they don’t live closely in the wild, they’ll end up being stressed.

well my dads friend keeps his toghether and they do just fine they get along fine and nothing ever happens they have been in the same cage for two years with no efects they will both eat regularly and get along just fine

Community tanks are very risky and can cause death to reptiles through fights or stress. If you want to push two different reptiles together to see if it works out of your own curious vanity and ignorance and risk their lives, then fine, do so. Just don’t say you weren’t warned.

My experience is that, despite all of the warnings, they will go ahead and mix species anyway. That is usually followed by a message in a few months lamenting the death of one or the other species or asking advice about an illness or other health problem.
