 Anole died

Sadly, a couple of days ago my anole died. I have no idea how, but I have a tiny clue.
I noticed all the talk about the coil bulbs so i decided to get a tube one. A couple days later i found him lying down with those dark patches around its eyes. a little bit later he died. My guess is he got stressed from the new bulb but does anybody else have an idea???

How long did you have him and what are the environmental conditions in the enclosure?

well, i’ve only had him since May, 2. I have lots of branches and those sort of things. I keep the humidity around 60%-70%, i mist it often, and i have a basking spot (85-90 degrees Farenheit normally)

That doesn’t describe everything. Can you post a picture of the tank? Or just answer if you were you using a 5.0 fluorescent UVB bulb for light and an incandescent for heat? Were these lights on about 12 hours a day or 24 hours a day? What was the normal temperature of the tank (excluding basking light temp)? What type of substrate were you using? What size tank did the anole live in, and did anything else live in the tank? What did you feed the anole and how often? If crickets, did you gut-load them and if so, with what? Was there anything besides branches in the tank?

I was using a 5.0 bulb and incandescent for heat
on 12 hours a day
The normal temp was about 80 degrees Farenheit
I was using the brick stuff that dissolves in water and is like an organic soil sort of
10 gallon tank
I fed it crickets (and the occasional moth/whatever i find in the yard that atrax said was okay)
nothing else lived in the tank (excluding crickets brefore they were eaten)
I didn’t gut load them
There also was a fake vine and some fake plants in there as well

Crickets don’t contain much nutrition on their own, it’s why you have to gut-load them.

I would suspect internal parasites that were likely present when you bought him. Because of their relatively slow metabolism, it takes awhile for symptoms to develop. By then, it can be too late for treatment.
