 Incubators?

Can someone post pics of their incubators?
I had my house gecko eggs in a small gladware tupperware with holes punched in the top filled about an inch with potting soil(without perlite) and kept them at around 82F.I kept them at the top of my closet(we have shelves up at the top by a repti bulb and it’s around 85 so the tupperware was between 80-85 on the inside).I misted the edges twice a day or more depending on how dry the soil looked.
Unfortunately, my cat decided to jump off of a laundry basket and slam into the wall headfirst, sending the incubators flying.I don’t think they made it but they haven’t changed in color and they continued to shape(they got larger if that’s supposed to happen).I don’t know if I should give up on them or what.I don’t want to just throw them out only to find out later that they were actually still alive. It’s been around 41 days since they were first laid.
I also tried putting my brown anole eggs in the same type of incubator and they just shriveled up.Both house geckos and anole roam wild here so I tried to copy a replica of what they would be facing outside but nothings been happening. Is it my incubator?
Can someone post pics of their successful incubators so that I could see what I was doing wrong?

Thanks,

Use Vermiculite as a medium in an incubator and make sure that it is moist (not wet) all of the time. You can use almost any container with a lid that will hold a constant temperature. Just make sure to punch small hoiles in the lid for circulation. Keep the temperature at 82-85 degrees.

So potting soil can’t be used at all?

 Incubators?

It can but Vermiculite is a better choice. It is sterile and more absorbant.

Okay thank you, I will see if wal mart or something has that and use it next time I get a batch.Stripe looks like she’s about ready so I’ll probably see about getting it tonight or tomorrow.
