Cut &swollen toe My cuban knight anole has a small cut on his toe and the area around it is swollen.I’m not sure how he got this, maybe a cricket or an injury sustained when playing out of his cage. He is a year old,is still eating well eg. crickets, feeder fish, banana, apples, mealworms++.However I am concerned about the cut and slight swelling, should I put neosporin on it.Has anyone ever had this problem?I’ll take all the advice I can get. Thanx

Cut &swollen toe Dont worry about it! When humans get cut it swells around the wound as well. It is our bodies way of letting us know to leave it alone. It becomes tender so we are more careful around the area. Same with your anole! Swelling is normal...dont bother to put neosporin unless he starts to develope a redness--or stays tender too long! HE SHOULD BE FINE!

Cut &swollen toe Hmm. I think the neosporin might be a good idea. First, completely sterilize the enclosure. Be prepared to take the critter to a herp vet if an abscess develops or the situation otherwise doesn’t improve.
