 Substrate Question

I am think about just getting some clay flower pots and planting my live plants in them so I can take them out easily and spray the leaves off because they are ALWAYS covered in poop and I can’t believe that is sanitary. So anyway instead of using organic potting soil for the rest of the substrate is it ok to use repti carpet? Or will my females have no place to lay their eggs and they get eggbound? Plus I have a hard time catching all the crickets every night that don’t get eaten thought this may make it easier.

 Substrate Question

i don’t know about the other stuff but i put 4 crickets at a time in mines tank about every 3 or 4 days and what they don’t eat i leave them in there instead of trying to catch them and take them out. i sprinkle a little fish food flakes in the tank and the crickets eat it and leave the millers and other bugs alone. so that might save you some work if you want to try that. by the time the 3 or 4 days are up there isn’t any crickets in there anymore any ways. but i also go out every night and catch some millers for them to. and i love to watch them try to catch those.

 Substrate Question

Since one of the preferred locations for egg laying is at the base of plants, it shouild work fine. Just make sure there is enough space between the plant and the edge of the pot. Also, use, organic potting soils (without Perlite) or organic compost in the clay pots.
