Questions?

I have a 75 gallon tank and about 2 months ago i got 2 anoles. Just recentally i figured out that they are both males. The thing is the have never fought they both usually lay right next to each other on the same leaf. I always hear that if you have 2 male anoles together they WILL fight.
Also, I was wondering how many anoles can(should) get for the tank. I didnt get more back then cause i planned on putting them in a smaller tank and getting a bearded dragon. Then i thought i should stick with just anoles now. So yea, Tell me what you guys think.

if you will read the care sheet Atrax has posted in here you will get a lot of great information in it. as far as housing them its 1 anole for every 10 gallons. being you have a 75 gallon tank might be why they are not fighting and you also don’t have a female for them to fight over either. good luck and jis care sheet is just a few subjects down.

It might also be that they aren’t sexually mature.

Yea. How do you tell if they are sexually mature? Plus idk if they both ARE males. Only one of them has been using their Dewlap, and now the one that we have never Seen use the dewlap has been using it a lot. They never flash their dewlaps at each other but both do right before they pounce on a cricket....

Green Anoles are sexually mature at 8-9 months of age.

Just because they use their dewlap doesn’t mean that they’re male. Both male and females do this.

Just posterior to the vent are two enlarged scales (visible with slight magnification). If they are present, it is a male. If they are not there, it is a female.
