 FEMALE GREEN ANOLE EXTREMLEY DEPRESSED!
My female green anole Star is still hoarding eggs and now won’t even eat cut up crickets, That I used to force feed her while she wouldn,t eat now all she will accept is a little bit of peach baby food. Can they survive off this. I live 2hrs away from the nearest vet and my mother refuses to drive me there and that alone I won’t even have enough money to get the eggs cut out, I had her seperated from the others for 2 weeks and she hasn’t laid a single egg. What should I do ?,my uncle is a reptile vet has never performed the operation so he refuses.

wish i could help!!! have kept anoles for over 6 years and am at a loss as to what advise i can offer other than give it loads of water.

when you see her greedily taking water off the leaves--put the mister nob(turn it) so you get a more direct spray and keep on gently spraying where she is licking--until she doesnt want anymore!They can be on baby food for a while--until they recover their appetite. My anole got sick and I had to force fee him Strawberry baby food every day.
HOW ARE YOU GETTING HER TO EST IT? try strawberry--they like it more! Have you been giving her plenty of calcium during her pragnency? Call the reptile vet near you and ask him for advice---
and ask how much he would charge--and if he would let you make monthly payments.
My vet lets me make monthly payments---because a vet bill isnt cheap! Is your mother concerned more about the cost of the vet bill...then the drive there??
TRY TO COMPROMISE!

She’s getting calcium , I use an eye dropper to feed her. Also I have to pay for the bill and get my own ride it’s over 2 hrs away to the nearest vet. Also I’m only 15 and I do babysiiting, my parents oreder to babysit my bro & sis ( i get payed 20$ a week and I have to buy crickets every 2 weeks, I may try buying in bulk of the internet).

try to get her some waxworms or some silkworms. When gravid anoles need EXTRA calcium.
Just call the vet---or better yet try to call a REPTILE VET and ask him what to do.
If you can’t get her there---at least see what the vet thinks about the situation.

Yeah ok but in the meantime the waxworms and silkworms are not sold around here so I’d have to order them over the internet for that it requires a credit card something I don’t have and one my mom is not willing to lend because of the fact of christmas so soon she’s up to her head in bills to pay off.

Its really easy...you can cool the worms in the fridge and they go into a hibernation--so they should survive until they get to your place--then store them in the fridge!Sincerely yours
