Burrowing Anole Still Burrowing
So my dominant male anole has buried himself again. I keep the hot spot in the tank between 85-93 during the day and mist 3x a day. They usually get food every other day (crickets) and mealworms on the weekend. He does this sporadically. Basically I look in the tank and can’t find him anywhere. Then I look at the substrate at the back of the tank. And usually (not always) his tail is sticking out a bit. I have only ever watched him do this once when I was cleaning the cage. That time he did some weird kind of what I like to call an Anole Deathroll and buried himself completely under the substrate in about 1.5 secs. People have said its hibernation but there’s no change in heat and he does it so sporadically. Are there anymore theories about what this is?

Burrowing Anole Still Burrowing What time does this usually occur? If the temps in the room get too cool at night (below 60) they would be cold and try to warm up.

Burrowing Anole Still Burrowing He only does it during the day. Last night when I was up at around 3ish (heats no on yet) it was about 50% hunidity and 80 degrees (f). I’ll post a picture of him later if that means anything and my tank set up

Burrowing Anole Still Burrowing He appears to be a Bahaman Brown anole. I used to have one but gave her to a friend and she burrows a bit but this behavior sounds odd. My green anoles don’t do this.
