Question about male Green anole?
I have decided to seperate my 2 females that were fighting they both stay green now but my male is still a light brown color during the day, green at night and when he’s out of his cage walking around my room. My grandfather found him in south carolina he was missing 4 toes, part of his tail, and had a nasty bite on his neck, he was also extremley skinny so my grandpa brught the little guy home for me since I already had 5 anoles and he now is a nice fat little guy tail has grown, neck has healed , though he’s still missing his toes, he’s 7.9 inches long stl. So any opinion on why he’s staying light brown, not dark and no postorbital spots behind the eyes. The temperature stays around 82 degrees. He live with 1 female in a 24 gallon home-made cage. humidity 79.

Question about male Green anole? Torch, I live in SC and my 2 anoles are wild caught (actually they came to me, believe it or not?) and they stay brown quite a bit of the time. I haven’t really noticed a pattern as to when they change colors, but they seem healthy, are eating well, etc. Hope this helps?

Question about male Green anole? Anoles can get a little stressed by movement outside of their enclosure. Being tasty little critters to many other animals, they naturally have a "be weary of predators" program running in their little brains. You might try adding furnishings to the cage or otherwise breaking up the sight-lines to the outside world. Also, I think you should consider not getting him out of the tank so frequently.

Question about male Green anole?
He has the choice to leave I leave the cage door open while I’m in my room and their are no other animals in my room. There is 3 plants, a cave , a habba hut and 7 branches along with a water bowl in his tank along with my female Juliette.

Question about male Green anole? i have the same problem with my biggest anole. i have messed around with temperatures and allsorts. i dont think it has any thing to do with temperatures. but watch everyone say that the temperature needs to be turned up. they are certainly not stresed they live in an 80 gallon viv. indeed mine go greenest when they are stressed. ive never seen a green green anole in the wild either. im sure they are fine. some are green all the time some arent.
