#2268790 Animals_always View Profile	Dieffenbachia a good live plant? I was wondering if Dieffenbachia are a good plant to put in an anole tank. I know the sap is toxic if eaten but anoles are insectavoires so this shouldnt be a problem right?

It’s common name is "dumb cane" because the sap from the stem of this plant causes the throat to swell preventing speech. Its in a pot. I thought that might help :)

I have used several cultivars over the years without incident. It shouldn’t be pruned, though, since that would expose the Anoles to the sap directly.

If they some how scratch it open and it gets on their food i don’t think that would be good. Maybe I’m over reacting. I would just put a common potted plant if I were you. Hope i helped!
