 Does the males eat females or other way around?????

i got my first anole the other day its a little one. the next day i thought i would be nice to have more then one so i got another one the reptile specalist told me it was a female but i got it home put it in the tank and it kept puffing up and jumping on the other one. so now i was thinking its a male. so do they do that to each other if they are bigger then each other or because they are to females fighting or could they have just told me wrong and i got to males?? and do they eat each other one is missing or he is an ascape artist? please help very very new at this

Males & females get along with each other, but dont put 2 males togeather coz they will fight........TO THE DEATH!!1
