Need Help Quick
| We just bought 2 brown anoles. We thought one was a male and one was a female. Do both them male and female brown anole have reddish-orange dewlaps? Would appreciate any information on how to tell them apart. |

| dood com down first of all you should of read on these before you got them because i seems you know nothing about them both female and male bob there heads because its a mating RITUAL and the male has a bigger dewlap than the female and theres two reasons why the male opens it first its to grab the females atention and show off and second its a warning sign saying im going to bite you . |

| The one you said was bobbing its head and flexing its dewlap is most likely a male. Now since you said it was rasing the skin on it’s back it leads me to think the other is a male also. They will flex their dewlaps for female attention, but if they darken in color, raise the skin on their back, bob their head and flex the dewlap, they are challenging anoter male to a territory dispute. Watch them carefully so they don’t end up fighting. |

No, they haven’t fought since I bought them 2 weeks ago. One of them raises the skin on it back but the other one doesn’t. The one that doesn’t raise the skin on its back bobs its head and puts its dewlap out alot. The one that does raise the skin on its back won’t ever put out its dewlap if I am nearby. |
