Are they a good pet choice no...u cant hold them because there too jumpy and fast and small!and becuase they hav a very very high metabolism like a lot of diurnal reptiles they eat ALOT!(if fed properly)...for example, wen i had just 3 anoles they ate 1 dozen small crickets everyother day!....if u dont breed ur own crickets...which i dont...in can become extremely expensive! Also,u need to mist every day...otherwise anoles become dehydrated EXTREMELY quicker...like the quickest reptile i know of!...so dont get one!

Are they a good pet choice From what I’ve observed, anoles are to reptiles as a parakeet is to birds, in terms of pets. They are fun to look at and watch do their thing, but you really can’t interact with them...If you need a beginner pet, AND you want to be able to hold it and interact more, look into Bearded Dragons, or Leopard Geckos.

yea i agree, green anoles are very hard to tame just about impossible, they are "neat" but they are tuff to keep very long, they are kool to hav in a terrarium though.

Really, I don’t know. I’ve always enjoyed catching them at my Aunt Anne’s house, but I wouldn’t suggest one as a pet.

Anoles are the best!! I have never had a reptile with such unique personality! They can be tamed within 3-4 days--most say it is impossible--but with all anoles I have come in contact with whether it be my own or someone elses I have been very successful in taming them. All it takes is time, patience,a secure and quiet atmoshere, LOVE and knowing how to properly hold and handle them. Watching anoles at play is like watching the best comedy soap opera ever! They are smart, witty, spunky, playful, fun loving, proud, and love affection! They hold all the qualities of a human in terms of interaction with eachother. They CAN be tamed- and can become your best companion! Heck one of my little ones-Nia--will sleep in the curly locks of my hair. They even enjoy bathing with me. They will just lay on my warm legs and relax and rest-they love the humidity!! Cisero and Miylo always jump onto my shirt and sleep under the top edge of my bra cup! They are absolutely smitten with being held and loved...... if handled with delicate love!! Sincerely yours NikkE If you wish to know more or how to tame them- feel free to contact me. I am in the process of designing a web page which wll cover all this and more!

Are they a good pet choice Nikke, I’m very interested in taming my two green anoles. Meeco(my boy) is skittish when I go to take him out but as soon as he comes out, he sits on my shoulder or clings to my shirt as I do things around the house. However, Yoshiko(my little girl) gets scared and jumps all the time and refuses to allow me to take her out willingly. If you could email me with your ideas then I’d appreciate it greatly. kristim88@yahoo.com~Kam

Are they a good pet choice In my opinion anoles are very good pets. They need alot of room. And you dont want to have more males than females. The set up that I have if it helps you any is: 55 Gallon terrarium Waterfall Automatic mister that sprays every 6 hours for 30 seconds Lots of hiding and climbing spots Two UVA/UVB tube bulbs One basking lamp One Black light (serves no other purpose other than to give the look of moonlight at night)(and the anoles love it) And finally: 3 Males and 6 Females Bahaman Anoles Hope this helps you make a choice. And they are not that expensive to feed. The crickets at my local pet store are .10 each for large and .08 each for small ones.

Are they a good pet choice If the amount of crickets is a problem in purchasing any type of lizards then they might not be the rihgt choice for u unless they are herborvious. Anoles eat the probably the least amount of crickets than any toher lizard. My beardie eats 72 crickets in 2 days.
