I think that the bare minimum for an adult ball python is a 55 gallon. Larger is better.

Well, a 30 will last for probably about till its 3 feet. Then you should move up. I’ve heard that you can keep a ball in a 30 long all of its life. But I would’nt.

We have two tanks - one houses the two males and the other one has our female.

He’s a pic of the female’s tank. It’s 2 foot long, not sure about the height etc (Thats Daniel’s side of things, Tanks and electrics)
Eden (our female is just over 2 foot long)

She’s staying in here till she starts feeding, then we’ll consider making her a larger tank.

The males are in a 3 by 3 by 2 tank and they seem VERY happy :o)

The "minimum" recomended size for an adult is 36" by 18". Make sure the cage is not to larg, ie. a 4’ by 2’ cage should only be used for a HUGE (5.5+ foot) female.

Eden is 1 year, 2 feet long and chunky
Small male is 3 years, just over 2 feet.
Large male is 6 years, 3 feet(ish)

Eden is in the tank shown in my last post.
The boys are together in a 3X3 tank, with 4 different hides and a nice sized water bowl.

 10 gal.

well right now I have my 23 inch boa in a 10 gal. but that is the ONLY thing I have right now my 20 gal. has fish and my 80 gal. has a 5 ft. boa but I am moving him up ASAP and he seems to be fine, I just think he needs a bigger tank, I mean you could fit 4 of him on each side of the tank I would say move him up at 24 inches..

My year old ball python starbust is a little over 2 feet i keep her in a 35 gal and once she is older, i’m making her a 6 foot by 4 foot by 3 foot cage that will allow her to max out he space and climb( i find when shes giving the oppurunity she likes climbing). I’m sick of hearing about people keeping there bps in 20 gals or trying to find the cheapest answer( no offense to anyone) if your gong to own a bp give it the best possible life. I also think breeding racks are plan cruel especially since egg binding has been linked to not enough excersie ( breeding racks don;t allow much room).but thats just my 0.02.

How big should a "tank" be for Baby Boy

I was thinking of building a tank for Baby Boy 4’x4’ with 3’ depth;
would that be to big for him? he’s 4’7" long and still growing. He’s in a 50gal now. But at times it doesn’t seem to be big enough for Baby Boy. He’s a BP. He loves it when I bring him out and let him exercise; I do that everynight for him.

This is Baby Boy getting his exercise. Any suggestions?

build the tank. its better for them to have space to roam. i have a 4ft+ ball that i keep in a tank thats 4 by 2 by 2.5 ft. i have a 3ft ball i keep in a 20 gallon and i have a baby which i keep in a 10gallon. i suggest that u build the tank it be best for the snake.
