 Odd snake
Been helping a friend with taming all his snakes. Long story short.... have this one year old male.... been trying for months... eats fine, temps are all fine... everything is perfect... vet says he is great, yet he bites, like a madman... hands all washed etc... when we try to handle him he just snaps. Oh he is CB. Any ideas? Exorcism?

im not a snake owner so i cudnt really tell u frm own experience but u cnt really say all snakes are great if u no wot i mean lol! u must just have 1 of the norty snakes out of the bunch!

Kids these days, eh? 
I’d think someone mis-handled or neglected the snake to be so fierce. Hmmm...does he eat live or pk/ft? I’ve noticed people who’s snakes eat live tend to be more bitey and not-so-docile. Maybe it’s in his blood too...like the parents of the bp were wild caught or something, so it still has that natural instinct to fear humans. The only way I can think of calming him to stop biting is to just handle him and take it like a man, lol. With persistent handling, he’ll come around and realise the biting does nothing. There’s nothing else you really can do.

thanks for the words pelota. i assumed the same thing, that he was mistreated. He has no problem eating pk as that is all we give him. Your theories make sense and are most probably the case. Guess you summed it up well and there really is nothing else i can do.... Guess I will keep at it. Thanks again for the input, everybody.... just needed confirmation. Oh and vote kerry....Cheers.

someone told me not to feed him in the cage cous he will think that u are tryingto feed him more and think your hand is food. sooo i suggest you feed it in a like bag ur something like that and not in his cage

thats crap, it doesn’t matter. Feeding in the cage is less stressful for bps, and if you feed out of the cage then it can stress out your snake and he might go off-feed. My advice: Feed inside the tank, he wont think your hand is food. None of mine or my parents ever have!

A few years ago a mate took a fussy eater out and handled him for sometime. While the snake was out of his tank he placed a FT in the tank. He then returned the snake to the tank and the snake it really quickly. I know a few others that use that technique and I do as well. Its just that this one snake is stubborn and doesnt enjoy being held, and I respect that and dle him only when I have to, although it always results in a bite or two.

Vote Kerry?  I am Canadian and know Kerry ... is .. well useless, unless you are hungry. He would make a good pancake! Hmmm allthough, he is up in the air so much, flip-floping, he wouldn’t bake enough on either side to be, even, a good pancake ... so Kerry = a soft, pesimistic, does everything in his power to make americans look bad, uncooked pancake?
