Tips Do as much research as you can on the type of snake you are getting. I don’t know what kind you are going to get, but one of the best "starter" snakes would be a cornsnake. The only general info I can give you is probally the most important aspect of keeping a snake is temperature. If you decide on a type of snake and want specifics on that species then post a question. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here that can help. Good luck with whatever snake you get.

Tips I recommend getting a corn snake for a first time snake. Also, print out the care sheet here and us it as a guide. Don’t be afraid to ask questions either.

Tips They may be better to some. But to an inexperienced first time snake owner, generally corns are the way to go. Their husbandry is much easier, and much more forgiving of simple husbandry errors. A ball python is usually a good first snake for someone who has researched lots and lots, and knows what they’re getting into.

Tips You should research lots and lots for any snake. The husbandry isn’t hard for ball pythons. But if your worried about eating, How bout a Redtail Boa? females get like 10ft. and males gfet 7-8ft. they are very easy to take care of, and are very docile. They aren’t none to be finicky eaters, and are very pretty. Go to www.freewebs.com/herpinfo48 to see a caresheet on them, and pics.
