STRIKING AT THE GLASS??? Hey. Well, cupid ate last tuesday, and apropriate sized food item, and he pooped 4 time slast night. I don’t know why. I held him for a long time yesterday, so did my friend and he was fine. I went to get the poo out, and when I took my hand out, he struck, then he struck twice more at me through the glass. Then my mom went to see and he struck at her through the glass. WHy is this? Maybe he is hungry? WE are going to get a moouse now. I am really shocked, he has always had the best termperment. Until now? Why is he doing this? Can you please give me some help? It is really weird. Becase he was perfect yesterday. He has been roaming around the cage all day, so i am thinking he might be hungry. And also since he pooped 5 times since his last meal! I am getting him some food now....but i was just wondering why in the world he is doing this! I have had him for abotu 2 months and he has always been fine!! WHATS WRONG!

STRIKING AT THE GLASS??? calm down man don;t worry. Its very normal for pythons to poo a large amount of feces. My ball python did this recently he ate what at the time was a big meal for him pooped and kept striking when i came near even though shes a perfectly tame snake. Well i tried feeding her a large rat the next day ( she was on small rats at the time and took it no problem) so maybe this is you ball pythons way of telling you its time to switch it up to larger food items. Good luck keep us posted

STRIKING AT THE GLASS??? Wow...you’re joking right? Your bp strikes a few times, and you go apesh|t. Your posts were so overboard that I thought you were joking around...come on. With your vast knowledge of snakes, you should know that a few strikes are normal right? They’re not furry kittens. Settle down.

STRIKING AT THE GLASS??? I know but they were for no absolute reason. And gosh you don’t have to get mad, I just wanted to know what was wrong with him. He acts perfectly fine. He ate the size meal he normally eats, last tuesday, and then sunday night he poop 5 times (like seperated but they were the size of normal poop). Then I was getting the poop out, and he started striking at me. It scared the crap out of me, cus right when I took my hand out WHAM! I was just wondering if there was something wrong because he did it out of the clear blue, and he has never acted agressive before, and I held him for like 3 hours yesterday. I just didn’t understand. You don’t have to get mad. I was just asking. Im sorry. But if you look at most of my post, they go unanswered for like days.....idk why.....every post I make no one answers unless I keep poting in it.....

STRIKING AT THE GLASS??? I didn’t get angry. It was just weird how you posted and posted one after another over something as simple as striking. It wasn’t anything life threatening. And I know what you mean about your posts going unanswered for days, but look at the times you posted on...1. 10/18/04 7:35pm 2. 10/18/04 8:24pm Less than an hour later 3. 10/18/04 8:44pm 20 minutes later 4. 10/18/04 8:58pm A bit more than 10 minutes later 5. 10/18/04 9:39pm Just around 40 minutes later All in all, within 2 hours, you posted 5 times, usually in caps, in a freaking out fashion. I don’t know why. I can understand if you did it like hours and hours between eachother, maybe days between eachother. But yeah, you’re lucky it only took 3 hours for a response. Some boards it takes days before someone replies to something. As for your snake striking for no absolute reason, that’s probably not correct. They don’t strike for no reason. It could have been anything. He could have been sleeping or minding his own business and you startled him when you came in to clean his p00. You could’ve had a particular scent on you that got to him. He could’ve just been having a bad day. Anything. But it’s nothing to worry about as much as you did.

STRIKING AT THE GLASS???
There is nothing wrong with him, he is a snake. My 5.5ft carpet python will strike at me or the glass if I try to do something in his cage without taking him out first and putting him in a tupperware, or if I have him out then put him back and still try to mess around in/around his cage. It may or may not be a long-term habit, but it is nothing to worry about. Also remember that many people have work/class etc and can’t check a msg board every few minutes. If you are patient, SOMEONE is bound to reply .
